oh my gracious!

summer hiatus

i'm back from a short summer hiatus! this summer has been busy in the best sense of the word. i got to go home to the east coast. i even visited my uncle's cabin in Ararat, PA... last time i had been there was in second grade!

i spent a lot of time exploring the area, it's so peaceful and relaxing up there. i could definitely see myself living somewhere like that one day. 

that last picture is of an abandoned house down the street from the cabin! it was such a cool looking house that i had to drive down and photograph it.

i spent the rest of my time between philly and jersey...

and the best part was that i got to be there for my niece Keira's first birthday and my brother's engagement!

the rest of my summer has been busy with Everything Darling stuff... last weekend we were at the Rose Bowl Flea Market. we hope to have more pop-up shops coming up in the near future!

and i promise this is the end of my hiatus! i'm excited for the fall and holidays and all the crafting that comes along with it!

29 before 30!

so technically i've been 29 for a month now but things have been so busy that i haven't had a second to sit down and write my 29 before 30 list! so here we go...

1/ launch business website

2/ go to San Fran

3/ ride my bike more

4/ sew a dress for myself

5/ build my new bedroom furniture - headboard, desk, and shelves/bookcase

6/ read more... at least 1 book a month!

7/ grow a garden

8/ have a bonfire at the beach. s'mores!

9/ commit to a mile a day... bike, walk, or elliptical

10/ take a photography class

11/ host a dinner or cocktail party at the house

12/ send more snail mail

13/ build up my record collection

14/ declutter my home

15/ keep building up my savings

16/ learn to crochet or knit

17/ do a weekend detox and continue to eat healthier

18/ buy more from local/small businesses

19/ try 1 new recipe a month

20/ do more canning this year and try new recipes

21/ get a tattoo

22/ be bold and try to pull off red lipstick

23/ go to a drive-in

24/ pray more

25/ hike up to the Hollywood sign

26/ find a new local blues or jazz bar 

27/ get a grill and learn to barbecue

28/ finish decorating the house... even though i feel like this is a neverending project

29/ take a train somewhere

i plan on sharing my accomplishments as i attempt to conquer everything on this list by December 28, 2013!
